The DC CoP provides a space where school personnel, behavioral health providers, and community leaders can learn from each other, collaborate, and problem-solve. We jointly conduct school-based activities and services designed to promote healthy development and well-being for all students and their families. Deepen Your Understanding in a Specific Area of School Behavioral Health
The DC School Behavioral Health Community of Practice (DC CoP) was convened in September 2019 by the Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) at George Washington University (GWU) to support the comprehensive school behavioral health expansion. This learning community was sponsored by the DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) in 2019-2024 and is currently being supported by the CHHCS at Milken Institute School of Public Health. While the formal grant cycle has concluded, the strong demand from CoP members and supporters has led to the continuation of learning. The CHHCS team is committed to support the DC School Behavioral Health Community of Practice by hosting monthly practice group meetings and trainings, and sharing school mental health resources through the CoP newsletters and the CoP website.
