This DC School Behavioral Health Community of Practice meeting explored the habits of collaboration that build strong teams. Dr. Joanne Cashman, a national expert in stakeholder engagement, will talk about trust-building strategies that can be used by school teams. We also learned about the Strengthening School Behavioral Health Survey results and discussed how these results can be used to implement School Strengthening Work Plans.
The meeting objectives:
- Share the Strengthening School Behavioral Health Survey results related to school behavioral health (SBH) services and supports in schools.
- Grow knowledge of evidence-based practices for SBH and best practices for team building.
- Introduce the habits of collaboration and practice an engagement strategy (Trust Still: A Self-Reflection Tool) to build trust among team members and strengthen school teams.
- Understand how text-based coaching can be used as a new access point for behavioral health supports (Tier 2).
