October DC CoP Meeting: Impact of Community Violence on Youth, Families, and Schools
Join the next DC School Behavioral Health Community of Practice meeting on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00 am to explore the impact of community violence on youth, families, and schools. This CoP meeting was approved for 1.5 psychology and social work continuing education units (CEUs).

Meeting Objectives
- Understand community violence and the impact of trauma affecting youth, families, and school staff.
- Identify best practices on violence prevention models and programs for use in schools and communities.
- Explore community resources and share strategies that can utilized to develop supportive responses to community violence and trauma.

- School Behavioral Health Coordinators and Clinicians from DC Public Schools and DC Public Charter Schools (please feel free to invite other members of the team, such as administrator, mental health staff, etc.)
- School Mental Health Clinicians from DBH and Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
The DC CoP is designed for school teams to attend and advance the implementation of school behavioral health best practices to support their School Strengthening Work Plans.
